York Region is the fastest growing region in the GTA. The Regional Municipality of York
assumes responsibilities for Transit, Regional Roads, Water and Wastewater Treatment,
Waste Management, Social Assistance, Family and Children Services, Social Housing, Long
Term Care, Public Health, Emergency Medical Services, Police, Strategic Planning, Human
Services Planning and Economic Development.
The Goal:
Convert 140 acre greenfield site into a fully serviced subdivision for Waste Transfer
Station and Transportation and Works and York Regional Police Fleet, Regional
Operations Centre.
The Region needed to plan and develop 140 acres of farmland, in order to proceed with two
major facilities projects it was planning. The Region was planning to develop a new Waste
Transfer Station and a new Transportation and Works Regional Operations Centre.
The Results:
Fully developed subdivision including new roads, storm water management facilities, utilities
and landscaping, on budget, ahead of schedule and meeting all operational objectives.
Working closely with the Region, the Town of East Gwillimbury, The Lake Simcoe Region
Conservation Authority, design consultants and contractors, Matrix Management Corp. lead
the entire subdivision development process and ensured that all requirements were met to
arrive at a plan of subdivision and subdivision agreement. The firm project managed all aspects
of the subdivision engineering and construction including for new roads, storm water
management facilities and utilities and landscaping.
Matrix Management Corp’s strategic and implementation planning, project management,
scheduling and regular close contact with all stakeholders significantly contributed towards
the successful delivery of the project. |
